This winter we are trying something new with the Community Ice Rink in Hales Corners Park.
The Friends of Hales Corners Park & Pool have left two shovels at the rink for anyone who wants to skate right away.
Today, after work I stopped by and two brothers, Mason and Tanner were shoveling the rink off. I was so happy and excited I had to take a picture of the brothers and they stopped to pose for the camera.
Since our community rink is staffed by our Friend volunteers we can’t always be there.
I’m hopeful that the shovels will encourage others to care for the rink in between the times we resurface and shovel it.
So far so good! It takes a Village as the saying goes. 😊
