Hales Corners Park Pool Update

After learning yesterday that Hales Corners Pool was not on the list of open pools for this summer, despite countless efforts by the Friends of Hales Corners Park & Pool and numerous residents over the past few years, I decided to go straight to the sources to get answers. I asked County Supervisor Patti Logsdon for an update on the work being done at the pool house on the post from April 29th on her page, as well as messaged Milwaukee County Parks directly asking them for reasons why Hales Corners Pool was not chosen to be open this summer. I did receive responses from both, which are pictured below.

The painting work being done on the pool house this week could be its own project, and not related to the decision of the pool opening or not. The paint on the outside doors has been chipping and peeling away for years and was well overdue for a touch up.

I know there are many out there who are disappointed, including myself, that the pool is closed for a sixth straight summer, but it is extremely important and crucial for residents to continue to communicate with County officials if you want to see change, be active, and be involved when opportunities come up to do so. The Budget Hearing that is held in the fall is a great place to show up and address concerns, as well as town hall meetings, and voicing your concerns through your vote in County Supervisor elections. Issues like this one won’t get totally solved on Facebook.
