On Sunday, November 10, 2013, we honored all of our veterans with a short, poignant ceremony at the Veterans Memorial in Hales Corners Park. We were also able to have a posthumous memorial service for a veteran who devoted 38 years of service to our country in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. I’m proud to have been able to say a few words to his grandson as the American flag was handed to him. If you haven’t yet seen this beautiful memorial, which was dedicated on May 27, 2012, I encourage you to stop by and spend a few minutes enjoying its peaceful beauty.
