This picture was taken on September 11, 2011 at the groundbreaking of the Veterans Memorial in Hales Corners Park.
I’m on the far left side with Howard Hingiss, WWII Veteran, retired police captain from the Hales Corners Police Department, and Co- Chairman of this project, next to Howard is the other co-chairman, Mitchell McGlinn, age 15 at the time and this project was his Eagle Scout project from Boy Scout Troop 598 in Hales Corners, next to Mitchell is Congressman Paul Ryan at the time and now Speaker of the United States House of Representatives and on the end is Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele. Both Ryan and Abele were guest speakers that day. I was the Village of Hales Corners liaison (still am today) to the Veterans Memorial Committee and the Master of Ceremonies on September 11, 2011.
