Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors Annual Public Hearing

Dear Honorable Chairwoman Marcelia Nicholson,

I hope you are doing well, and I would be grateful if you would share this email with your Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors colleagues.

I’m writing to ask you to please open Hales Corners Pool next summer. It has been closed for five straight summer seasons after approximately $500,000 worth of improvements were made eight years ago, including a new pool liner and a new metal roof on the pool house. Not to mention the 42 public-private partnerships implemented from 2003 to 2024 to keep the pool house, pool, and park updated, clean, and afloat.

To this point, I’ve given approximately 21% of my life to keeping Hales Corners and Park & Pool relevant. Our Friends of Hales Corners Park & Pool have been faithful partners with the Milwaukee County Parks Department for over two decades.

In addition, the outside of the pool house building hasn’t been painted since our Friends of Hales Corners Park & Pool volunteers worked with eighth-grade Girl Scouts and their dads from Franklin over eleven years ago, and it turned out perfectly.
