Little did I know that it would be six more years of bureaucratic requirements and frustrating politics when the Milwaukee County Parks killed our projects in Hales Corners Park.
As one who has given 23% of my life to keeping Hales Corners Park & Pool relevant, this experience is easily the most unethical and frustrating that I have experienced in my 45 years in both the public and private sectors, including 19 years as an elected village board trustee in the Village of Hales Corners.
As a student of history I will leave it on the field for future academics to sort out the 23 years that the Friends of Hales Corners Park & Pool contributed to this Milwaukee County asset.
